Postponement of the Leadership Summit on Tobacco Control

Due to COVID-19 related difficulties, the Advisory Board of the World Conference on Tobacco or Health (WCTOH) had to postpone the virtual Leadership Summit on Tobacco Control, which was due to take place on the 6th and 7th of May 2021. We remain committed to hosting the Summit this year and will announce new dates shortly.

In addition, we have taken decision to reschedule the 18th World Conference on Tobacco or Health, which will be a physical meeting, to 2023. This is due to ongoing pandemic-related uncertainty about travel. The long lead times for physical conferences, including the need to book venues and hotels far in advance, led the Advisory Board to make this decision. The wellbeing of attendees and partners is our number one priority.

This decision was made after consulting with the Local Organising Committee, to whom we would like to express gratitude for their understanding, patience, and continued support.

We look forward to welcoming delegates to Dublin in 2023.

Signed:

Prof Guy Marks, Interim Executive Director of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union)

Dr Harry Lando, Chair of the WCTOH Advisory Board and Organising Committee
